Tech Comm Jobs and Freelance Opportunities along the Colorado Front Range

Welcome to the Jobs and Freelance home page. This section of the RMC web site contains information for both jobseekers and freelancers, including listings of recent job postings in the area, national job postings, freelance resources, and an FAQ for freelancers.

Colorado and neighboring states

To announce a job opening on this web page and the phone line, please see the instructions for submitting job postings.

Searching for a job
Visit this page set for simply scads of job search information: search local employers' job listings, check out a list of job search URLs (Monster, Dice, FlipDog, and many, many, many more), look for job search resources by state.  Coming soon: a listing of all STC chapter website jobs pages.

Recent positions in the Rocky Mountain Region
These postings contain jobs received by the STC Jobs Manager within the current quarter.

For an historical (perhaps hysterical) look at past postings, visit the newly revamped jobs archive page.

Archived positions from the Rocky Mountain Region
Job postings are archived after about one month on the Job Line. The jobs posted here include postings dating about two months before the current date.

How To Hire the Best Technical Communicator
This employment guide provides useful information for both employers and job seekers.

Front Range Freelancers

Freelance Resources

Consulting and Independent Contracting (CIC) SIG members are interested in the special business opportunities and challenges involved with working as a contractor or consultant. The SIG meets before chapter meetings several times per year, as well as separately for in-depth discussions on relevant topics. The SIG offers several web-based resources, including notes from past meetings, an FAQ about freelance technical communication, a list of employment agencies that place technical communicators, a list of STC freelancers, and news about upcoming CIC SIG meetings. Topics of interest to the SIG membership can be brought up for discussion in the chapter's mailing list. The list, which is always a good way to network with other freelancers, is especially useful to members who are unable to attend chapter and SIG meetings. If you have ideas about other web-based resources or want more information on the CIC SIG, contact
